McGuireWoods' real estate law practice demonstrates our skills in a wide range of traditional and nontraditional real estate. Our corporate and retail real estate practice includes extensive expertise in the coordination and management of complex multi-state transactions. We are frequently asked to act as lead counsel in the acquisition, development, financing, leasing and/or divestiture of real estate assets, including experience in international transactions. We are accustomed to working closely with the corporate, environmental and other McGuireWoods groups in mergers and acquisitions, sales of assets and financing.
We represent tenants, landlords, developers, lenders, syndicators, brokers, entrepreneurs, buyers, sellers and investors in all types of real estate transactions, including the acquisition, financing, planning, zoning, construction, leasing and sale of real estate, including the development of several major distribution centers for national food and electronics retailers. As counsel on all sides of such transactions, we have the knowledge to help streamline transactions in ways that exceed our clients’ expectations.
The scope of our representation spans all aspects of development, including drafting and negotiation of leases, purchase agreements, reciprocal easement agreements, site development agreements and financing documents. Such transactional representation is often complemented by our role as land use counsel.
Our real estate practice also includes advising clients on environmental issues related to real estate transactions, with assistance from the firm’s Environmental Solutions Group. In addition, we assist our clients with the acquisition, development and sale of real estate, including construction documentation and title claims.
